What is the Secondary Market?
When a print is sold out from the publisher or artist, and no longer available to the art dealers or public, it is then a "sold out edition". Dealers who have these prints in inventory, or private collectors who own the prints after they are no longer available, make up what is called the "Secondary Market". The artwork is then bought and sold as the fair market demand dictates. In simpler words: The buying and selling of artwork in the open market, after all original inventory is sold by the artist or publisher, is referred to as the "Secondary Market".
Our Secondary Market value and policies:
A print's value increases greatly on the art market after all copies of an edition are sold at the original issue price. Many factors influence this ever-changing price, such as having a low number, supply & demand, popularity of the artist, etc. Most artwork's value is appraised by independent national art appraisers who do this for the industry.
We use InformArt as much as possible for this service. They are the leaders in this field. This is a membership based organization, to which we are proud to belong. We are not E-Bay. We do not and will not use E-Bay as a marketing partner. We deal with reputable art dealers only!
Market conditions, availability, and cost of ownership and procurement are also factors. We try to locate and market our artwork at the best prices available. We then pass the savings on to you. We will always try to keep our prices as close to the original selling price as possible. Our secondary art is already in-house unless noted differently. Prices include all current charges and fees.
